Summary

The Weber Spirit II is a gas grill. Gas barbecues have the advantage that they are ready to use in a few minutes. This one has great build quality and a lid that allows you to cook with indirect heat and smoke, if you add some wood chips to the grill or in a metal box. All you might want in a gas grill.

Opinion

Personally I’m very happy with it. It reduces the pain of starting and keeping a charcoal barbecue going. Additionally, since temperature control is as easy as turning a knob, it doesn’t require you to stay around while cooking, which makes preparing slow cooked pulled pork or brisket a lot easier.

Pros

  • Easy to use.
  • Great build quality.
  • Value for money.
  • Smoking is possible.
  • Transport wheels.

Cons

  • Assembly takes a while. Very painful process. Took me about 2 hours. Some steps required 2 people.
  • Price tag. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it.
